How Our Bible VR Experiences Led to Working on The Chosen – A Visual Effects Story
When we began creating virtual reality experiences of the Bible, our goal was simple: help people feel what it was like to walk the streets of ancient Jerusalem, stand inside Herod’s Temple, or witness the Sea of Galilee firsthand. Through high-end 3D environments, historically accurate virtual worlds, and immersive storytelling, we brought the Bible to life in a whole new way.
That’s what got the attention of Dallas Jenkins, creator and director of The Chosen—the largest crowd-funded Christian TV series in history.
“We saw your VR work and were blown away,” Dallas told us. “We want that same level of historical depth and visual excellence on The Chosen.”
And just like that, we joined the VFX team for Season 1 of The Chosen.
From VR to Visual Effects for The Chosen
We had already spent years building realistic Bible-based VR environments—including:
-
A fully explorable Temple of Herod in VR
-
First-century Capernaum with interactive elements
-
Virtual recreations of biblical cities, deserts, and synagogues
These weren’t just stylized animations. We worked hand-in-hand with biblical scholars, archaeological data, and historical texts to make sure every detail was right—from architectural layouts to lighting, textures, and atmosphere.
That same expertise carried over into our visual effects for The Chosen, where every frame needed to feel authentic, reverent, and cinematic.
Why The Chosen Wanted Us
The Chosen is known for its deep storytelling and commitment to biblical accuracy. When Dallas and his team saw our Christian VR projects, they knew we shared their passion. We weren’t just another VFX studio—we were artists who understood how to handle sacred stories with care.
We helped deliver:
-
Seamless visual effects for biblical miracles like catching the fish
-
Period-accurate background extensions
-
Subtle enhancements that elevated the emotional tone of the series
Faith-Based Storytelling Through Technology
Whether through a VR headset or a TV screen, our mission is the same: help people step into the story of the Bible. Our partnership with The Chosen is a testament to what’s possible when faith-based storytelling meets cutting-edge tech.
